To appreciate the value of one second – speak to the person who narrowly avoided being hit by a car.

To appreciate the value of one minute – speak to the lady who missed the daily bus.

To appreciate the value of one hour – speak to the production manager in a large automotive plant.

To appreciate the value of one day – speak to a third world labourer with ten people relying on his minimum wage for their next mouthful of food.

To appreciate the value of one week – speak to the editor of a weekly periodical.

To appreciate the value of a fortnight – speak to someone who only gets two weeks vacation per annum.

To appreciate the value of a month – speak to a mother who’s given birth to a premature baby.

To appreciate the value of a year – speak to the teenager who’s terminally ill with leukemia.

To appreciate the value of your life – speak to Christ about the cross.

To appreciate the value of eternity – speak to the Saviour about salvation.
