Still More Bold Statements

still more bold statements

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)

One of my joys when I pastored a church with a signboard on the main highway was to find bold statements that we could put up each week as a message for the thousands of motorists who drove by. Here’s the third post listing some of the pithy sayings we used on the signboard:

The best vitamin for a Christian is B1.

Don’t let the littleness in others bring out the littleness in you.

Worshippers needed. No experience necessary.

Coincidences happen when God chooses to remain anonymous.

With faith we can understand what we don’t understand.

When praying, don’t give God instructions – just report for duty.

He who kneels before God can stand before anyone.

To be almost saved is to be totally lost.

Sign broken. Message inside this Sunday.

Never give the devil a ride. He will always want to drive.

Don’t put a question mark where God puts a period.

Seven days without prayer makes one weak.

Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will succeed.

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

Are you wrinkled with a burden? Come to the church for a facelift.

Sorrow looks back. Worry looks around. Faith looks up.

God’s retirement plan is out of this world.

Free trip to heaven. Details inside!

God’s love is not lent – it’s given freely.

There is no death to sin without the death of Christ.

To master temptation let Christ master you.

Give Satan an inch and he’ll be a ruler.

Sin is cosmic treason.

A person who’s looking in can never look up.

If you can’t sleep, don’t count sheep. Talk to the Shepherd.

Sample the Bible occasionally and you’ll never get a real taste for it.

It’s good to be a Christian and know it, but better to be a Christian and show it!

Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory position.

The price of obedience is nothing compared to the cost of disobedience!

He’s still got the whole world in His hands.

Never give the devil a ride – he always wants to drive.

Life has many choices. Eternity has two. What’s yours?

A man’s character is like a fence – it can’t be strengthened by whitewash.

To belittle is to be little.

A clear conscience makes a soft pillow.

God answers knee mail.
