More Bold Statements

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31 (NIV)

One of my joys when I pastored a church with a signboard on the main highway was to find bold statements that we could put up each week as a message for the thousands of motorists who drove by. Here’s the second post listing some of the pithy sayings we used on the signboard:

Nothing else ruins the truth like stretching it.

Compassion is difficult to give away. It keeps coming back.

Unbelief is the shield of every sin.

God so loved the world that He did not send a committee!

If the soul is lost, the man is lost.

Worry is the darkroom in which negatives can develop.

Lengthen your patience and shorten your troubles.

Praise is a soul in flower.

Deciding not to choose Jesus is still making a choice.

Prayer that is faithless is fruitless.

Amendment of life is the best repentance.

Cold prayers always freeze before they reach heaven.

Face the future with faith in God.

If life is a grind use it to sharpen your character.

God doesn’t call the qualified – He qualifies the called.

Read the Bible – it will scare the hell out of you.

Divine resources are never exhausted.

The secret to coping is hoping in God.

If God is your copilot, swap seats.

Live for this life only and you’ll regret it for eternity.

When life gets snarled up let God direct the way.

There is more to life than increasing its speed.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Daily prayers lessen daily cares.

Fight truth decay – read the Bible every day.

There’s a place in God’s heart just for you.

Hate stirs up trouble. Love overlooks offences.

Do yourself a favour. Be kind.

This is a ch _ ch. What’s missing?

Man’s way leads to a hopeless end. God’s way leads to an endless hope.

A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

What you think is the right road may lead to death.

Jesus is our help for today and our hope for tomorrow.

Joy is not in things. It’s God in us!

No one is useless to God. No one!

Try our Sundays. They’re better than Baskin Robbins.

You’ll give up on yourself before God will.

Don’t give up. Moses was once a basket case!
