Count Your Blessings

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Gratitude is an attitude that needs to be cultivated. It doesn’t just happen. We need to learn how to be thankful. Here are some reminders from God’s Word:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” 1 Chronicles 16:34.

“Praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving” Psalm 69:30.

“Give thanks to him and praise his name” Psalm 100:4.

“Give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men” Psalm 107:15.

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted” Isaiah 12:4.

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 15:57.

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him” 2 Corinthians 2:14.

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” Colossians 4:2.

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone” 1 Timothy 2:1.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe” Hebrews 12:28.

So “Count your blessings. Name them one by one. Count your many blessings. See what God has done!”
