In Christ

“In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ” Ephesians 1:4-5

Christians have so many wonderful blessings “in Christ.” The phrase “in Christ” (or its equivalent) appears 27 times in the epistle to the Ephesians, more than in any other New Testament book. Here are some of the “in Christ” statements from Ephesians. Meditate on them and use them to motivate you to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received” Ephesians 4:1.

We are “in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 1:1.

We are blessed “in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.

“He chose us in him before the creation of the world” Ephesians 1:4.

“In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ” Ephesians 1:4-5.

“He made us accepted in the Beloved” Ephesians 1:6 KJV.

“In him we have redemption through his blood” Ephesians 1:7.

“In him we have … forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” Ephesians 1:7.

“He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ” Ephesians 1:9.

Everything is centered in Christ. He brings “all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ” Ephesians 1:10.

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” Ephesians 1:11.

We are “in Christ … for the praise of his glory” Ephesians 1:12.

“You also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation” Ephesians 1:13.

We have “faith in the Lord Jesus” Ephesians 1:15.

In Christ we have “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation” Ephesians 1:17.

In Christ we have hope (cf. Ephesians 1:18).

In Christ we have “his incomparably great power” Ephesians 1:19.

“Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions” Ephesians 2:4-5.

“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” Ephesians 2:10.

“In Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ” Ephesians 2:13.

We grow together in Christ (cf. Ephesians 2:21).

“In him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit” Ephesians 2:22.

We are “sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 3:6.

The “manifold wisdom of God” is manifested in Christ Jesus Ephesians 3:10-11.

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” Ephesians 3:12.
