Friendship

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends” John 15:13

A friend says nice things behind your back.

A friend doesn’t walk ahead of you or behind you, he walks next to you.

A friend will double your joy and halve your grief.

A friend can be counted on to count on you.

A friend is like a shock absorber – he helps you over the bumps of life.

A friend knows you but still likes you anyway.

A friend understands your silence.

A friend helps you up (cf. Ecclesiastes 4:10).

A friend is someone who comes in when everyone else has gone out.

A friend is a very rare jewel.

A friend leaves footprints on your heart.

A friend sticks by you when you make a mistake.

A friend intercedes for you (cf. Job 16:20).

A friend in times of poverty is better than a friend in times of plenty.

A friend laughs with you, not at you.

A friend sticks closer than a brother.

A friend is one with whom you can be at peace.

A friend knows if it is well with your soul.

A friend will look you right in the eye.

A friend likes himself best when he’s with you.

“A friend loves at all times” Proverbs 17:17.

A friend is more interested in you than he is in himself.

A friend is like old shoes – easily worn.

A friend bears your infirmities.

A friend helps you do what you can when you say that you can’t.
