But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” Luke 2:10
On a wintry night,
A couple in distress.
No room in the Inn,
Only one place to rest.
In a barn with some hay,
Tired, weary and worn.
A mother with child,
About to be born.
The stars shining bright,
With shepherds nearby.
When all of a sudden,
An angel on high.
“Do not be afraid,
I bring you good news.
A Saviour in swaddling clothes,
The King of the Jews.”
Then three wise men led,
The Christ child to seek.
In Bethlehem in Judea,
They found One so meek.
And His reason for coming?
To lead us to God.
Through death on a cross,
Spilt blood on earth’s sod.
So turn to Him now,
No longer delay.
Make room in your heart,
Invite Him to stay.
