If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
… we do not fully obey You.
… we would rather play than pray.
… we are slow to listen.
… we judge without justice.
… we lean on our own understanding.
… we are quick to anger but slow to mercy.
… we please man instead of pleasing You.
… we live by sight, not by faith.
… we’re unemotional, unbroken, and unwilling.
… we fight and quarrel.
… we make the past our hitching post instead of our guidepost.
… we lack contrition, conviction, and compassion.
… we know about You but don’t really know You.
… we operate outside of your pleasure and anointing.
… we speak unity while living in disunity.
… we’re not careful to do everything written in Your Word.
… we despise Your discipline.
… we want to become greater, not less.
… we submit grudgingly.
… we live with attitude instead of gratitude.
… we don’t hold fast to You.
… we see ourselves as potent and forget You’re omnipotent.
… we forget to say, “Thank you.”
… we want to be happy but not holy.
… we serve out of duty instead of desire.
… we pursue our whims instead of Your Will.
… we’re cold when we should be hot.
… we try to put You in a box.
… we show favouritism when we should be impartial.
… we give without generosity.
… we don’t long for the fellowship of God’s people.
… we use You as a resource and a means to an end.
… we value tolerance over passion for Your cause.
… we receive life but rarely reveal life.
… we make little effort to witness to the lost.
… we no longer tremble in Your presence.
… we complain, criticize and compare.
… we tolerate sin.
… we rarely weep for the persecuted.
… we don’t give the poor a second thought.
… we’re blind to the extent of our need for revival.
… we worship without wonder.
… we quit when we should persevere.
… we struggle to say, “I’m sorry.”
… and we do not love You with all our heart and soul and strength.
